NME Awards 2016 Nominations

The NME nominations have just been announced and with so many categories to vote for, you better get started now.

The Libertines and Wolf Alice are leading the nominations race with six nominations each including nominations in the 'Best British Band' category and 'Best Live Band'.

This is a brilliant way for The Libertines to make their comeback, they've been very popular with NME readers and hopefully they can take a few awards home.

Kanye West is up for both villain and hero of the year going head to head with now friend, Taylor Swift (of course she has be nominated as hero of the year).

David Cameron has been very unpopular with readers, also being nominated as villain as the year whereas Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn has been nominated as hero of the year. This is the sixth year in a row that Cameron has been nominated as villain of the year.

Looking at the full nomination list, you can get a feel as to the audience of the NME magazine. 5 Seconds of Summer are up for worst band (again. They won it in 2015) alongside One Direction, Little Mix and Nickelback.

The NME Awards will take place on February 17th at the London O2 Academy Brixton.
